B. KILPATRICK both of Lenoir Co., NC 8 October 1834 Deed from Richard CROOM to W. B. KILPATRICK This Indenture made this the eight day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and thirty four between Richard CROOM of the one part and William B. KILPATRICK of the State and County of aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said CROOM for and in consideration of the sum of Eight thousand dollars to him in hand paid by the said KILPATRICK the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hat granted bargained and sold & by these presents doth grant bargain and sell with the said William B. KILPATRICK a certain tract or messuage of Land lying and being in the County and State aforesaid an don the North side of Neuse River and bounded as follow. Beginning at the mouth of the Atkin Branch whereon it enters the river thence up the various courses of the same to the main road leading from Kinston to COXES Ferry to John WASHINGTONS line thence up the Branch with his line to his corner thence with his line to Coles Branch thence with another of said Washingtons line to his corner in Shadrack LOFTINS line thence with LOFTINS line East to the Flat Branch back of Pleasant POTTS place thence up said branch to the main road at the turn wherein Negro FIFE lives and from thence in a direct line to the first corner of a fifty acre patient granted to John HARTSFIELD now John WILLIAMS and with the line of the pattent to the river at the upper end of Jesse JACKSONS swim? Beach and thence up the various courses of the river to the mouth of the Atkin to the beginning also one acre of land at the west end of the Mill dam. To have and to hold to him the said William B. KILPATRICKS and his heirs forever and I the said Richard CROOM do for myself my heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right title and possession of said bargained premises to him the said William B. KILPATRICKS his heirs and assigns forever against the Lawful claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever in witness I the said Richard CROOM have hereunto set my hand and affix my seal the day and date first above written. CROOM (Seal) Signed, sealed and delivered in presence of Stephen WHITE Watson WILCOX State of North Carolina This 18th day of March 1835 before me Robert STRANGE one of the Judges of the Superior Court of Law & Equity in and for the State aforesaid came Stephen WHITE one of the subscribing witnesses to the within deed and proved the one execution thereof.
