Deed of Henry & Sarah Catherine CHAMBERLAIN of Pitt Co. & Eliza Argent GRAHAM, Julia
Anna GRAHAM & Martha Jane GRAHAM of Lenoir Co., NC. & Henry TULL of Lenoir Co., NC.
2 August 1831


This Indenture made this 2nd day of August In the year of our Lord One thousand
eight hundred eight hundred and thirty one. Between Henry CHAMBERLAIN and Sarah
Catherine CHAMBERLAIN his wife of the County of Pitt and State of North Carolina and
Eliza Argent GRAHAM, Julia Anna GRAHAM and Martha Jane GRAHAM of the County of
Lenoir and State aforesaid on the one Tract and Henry TULL of the said County of
Lenoir and State aforesaid on the other part. Witnesseth That the said Henry
CHAMBERLAIN, Sarah Catherine CHAMBERLAIN, Eliza Argent GRAHAM, Julia Ann GRAHAM and
Martha Jane GRAHAM for an din consideration of the Sum of One Thousand Four hundred
Dollars to them in hand paid by the said Henry TULL, the receipt, whereof is hereby
acknowledged have bargained sold and confirmed unto the said Henry TULL a plantation
tract or parcel of Land Situate lying any being in the County last above written and
Stake aforesaid on the North Side of Neuse River and South side of the Briery branch
butted and bounded as follows (viz) Beginning on the Briery branch at a corner of
the Land - assigned to the said Henry TULL in the division of Lands given by the
Last Will of John TULL, Senr. Dec’d to Sally Eliza TULL and in case of her death
without issue to be divided between the said John’s sons, Isaac & Henry and his
daughter Elizabeth GRAHAM, and runs South 20 West 86 poles then West 10 poles to the
said Henry TULLS corner then South 20 West 60 poles then South 30 East 60 pole then
South 37 !/2 West 286 pole to the back line then North 111 poles then North 65 west
32 pole then North 17 west 122 poles then north 73 east 163 please then North 44
west 179 poles then North 40 east 47 pole to the Briery Branch then runs the various
coursed of said branch to the beginning containing Three hundred and Sixty one acres
be the same more or less being the lott or share assigned to the heirs of the said
Elizabeth GRAHAM in the division of the lands before mentioned & known & designated
in said division as the lot no.# Three as will appear from the report of a Committee
for that purpose to the county court of Lenoir. To have and to hold the said land
hereby given and granted and all and Singular the premises hereby granted and sold
and every part and parcel thereof with their appurtenances unto the said Henry TULL
his heirs and assigns for ever and the said Henry CHAMBERLAIN, Sarah Catherine
CHAMBERLAIN, Eliza Argent GRAHAM, Julia Ann GRAHAM and Martha Jane GRAHAM their
heirs or any other person or persons claiming under them or their heirs among other
person or persons whatsoever shall warrant and for ever defend the aforesaid land
and premises by these presents. In Witness whereof we the said Henry CHAMBERLAIN,
Sarah Catherine CHAMBERLAIN, Eliza Argent GRAHAM, Julia Ann GRAHAM and Martha Jane
GRAHAM, hath set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

The due execution of the forgoing order of conveyance from Henry CHAMBERLAIN, Sarah
C. CHAMBERLAIN heir of said Henry and Eliza A. GRAHAM to Henry TULL was this 7th
Sept. 1830 at Greenville before me Daniel B. SWAIN one of the Judges of the Superior
Court of Law & Equity so far ad related to the execution of the same by the said
Henry CHAMBERLAIN  and Eliza A. GRAHAM, proved by the Oath of Nymphas A. PRICE one
of the subscribing witnesses thereto.
At the same time our place the said Sarah CHAMBERLAIN duly acknowledge the execution
of the same, and having claims by me examined separately, privately and apart from
her husband the said Henry, admitted that she signed the same fully and voluntarily
and without any compulsion or whatsoever.
Let it be Registered.

Then was the foregoing deed of bargain and sale from Henry CHAMBERLAIN & wife Sarah,
Eliza A. GRAHAM, Julia A. GRAHAM and Martha J. GRAHAM to Henry TULL exhibited in
Open court and the execution thereof so far as regards Eliza A. GRAHAM, Julia A.
GRAHAM, and Martha J. GRAHAM duly proved by Chauncey GRAHAM one of the subscribing
witnesses thereto and ordered to be registered.
