MECKLENBURG COUNTY, NC - MILITARY - Henry Long, Revolutionary War Record
                    ----------------------------

Henry Long moved to Mecklenburg County, N. C. in 1766 from Augusta
County, Va. (now Rockingham County). Henry was the father-in-law of
Jeremiah Clontz.

Henry Long is listed as a Revolutionary War Patriot. He was too old
to be in the military (b. 1740) but he furnished the Continental Army
with beef and was paid by Congress through the State of N.C. (__ day
of January in the year 178_. Not legible). He did not apply for any
pension and this is the only piece of documentation available. DAR
approved him as a Rev. War Patriot July 6, 1998 classed as a Public
Servant.
