Revolutionary Soldier William Elliott
From Revolutionary Soldiers in Tennessee

Revolutionary soldier WILLIAM ELLIOTT was a resident of Meckenburg County,
North Carolina, when he enlisted. He applied for pension on Aug. 17, 1833,
from Marion County, Tenn., where he died 27 June 1834. He states in his
petition that he had moved from Mecklenburg County to Wilkes County, Ga.,
where he lived two years, moved then to Jeffrson County, Tenn., then to
Bledsoe County and finally to Marion. His widow, MIRIAM LEITH survived him and
applied for pension in 1842. This application includes pages from the family
Bible with considerable family information as follows:
MIRIAM LEITH, born 27 Oct. 1768, married WILLIAM ELLIOTT on June 22, 1790.
JENNE H. ELLIOTT married HENRY BAIRD, 31 October 1809
SUSANNA ELLIOTT married THOMAS WALKER, 4 April 1816
BETSY ELLIOTT married RIGDEN ROBERTSON, 27 June 1816
NANCY ELLIOTT married JESSE HOWARD, 28 June 1818
JOSHUA ELLIOTT to CATY MOORE, 12 April, 1826
  BENJAMIN ELLIOTT (no information given)
_______ ELLIOTT, married JOHN BOWEN, 5 May 1825
MALINDA ELLIOTT, married THOMAS PAYNE, Jan 1828
WILLIAM E. ELLIOTT married MARGARET W. AUSTIN

These were apparently the children of WILLIAM and MIRIAM LEATH ELLIOTT.
The back of the Bible page contains births of children in the ROBERTSON
family.
