STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA   COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS  MECKLENBURG COUNTY
April Term

JOSEPH REED
    vs.
SAMUEL LOWRIE

Original Attachment - Levied on a Negro man, CAESAR, and a tract of land 
adjoining the lands of PATRICK JOHNSON, MILTON McGAUGHEY and others, 
containing 240 acres.

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendant is not an 
inhabitant of this State: It is therefore ordered by the Court that 
publication be made for six successive weeks in the Charlotte Journal 
notifying SAMUEL LOWRIE to be and appear at our next Court of Pleas & Quarter 
Sessions to be held for sd. county at the Court House in Charlotte on the 4th 
Monday in July. Then and there to plead, answer or demur to this petition or 
judgment will be taken pro confesson and heard ex parte as to him.
Witness BRALY OATES, Clerk of said Court at office on the 4th Monday in April 
A.D. 1841.
