STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA  COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS  MECKLENBURG COUNTY
July Term, 1837

JOHN M. MORRISON
      vs.
WILLIAM RENICK

Orginial Attachment: Levied on a Steam Engine, Gearing, Boiler, etc.; on 
defendant's interest in the St. Catharine's Mill Tract of land, containing 550 
acres; also on his interest in the Charlotte Gold Mine Tract, containing about 
100 acres; also on the O'FERREL Gold Mine tract, containing about 200 acres.

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that WM. RENICK, the defendant, 
is not an inhabitant of this State. It is therefore ordered by the Court that 
publication be made for six successive weeks in the Charlotte Journal, 
notifying said defendant, non-resident, to be and appear at our next Court of 
Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for said County at the Court House at 
Charlotte on the 4th Monday in October next. Then and there to plead, answer 
or demur to this petition filed. Otherwise judgment will be taken pro confesso 
and the matter heard ex parte as to him. Witness BRALEY OATES, Clerk of the 
said Court at Office on the 4th Monday in July A.D. 1837.
