STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA  COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS  MECKLENBURG COUNTY
July Term 1838

G. L. MASSEY, Adm'r of WM. MASSEY, deceased
                 vs.
JAS. G. CRAIG, I. N. DAVIS, and JAS. D. CRAIG

Original Attachment Levied on a negro woman and three children, viz, ELIZA, 
SARAH and BEN

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendants are not 
inhabitants of this Sate. It is therefore ordered by the Court that 
publication be made for six successive weeks in the Charlotte Journal 
notifying said defendants, non-residents to be and appear at our next Court of 
Pleas and Quarter Sessions to be held for the County of Mecklenburg at the 
Court House in Charlotte on the 4th Monday in October next. Then and there to 
plead answer or demur to this petition filed. Otherwise judgment will be taken 
pro confesso and the matter heard ex parte as to them. Witness, BRALY OATES, 
Clerk of said Court at office on the 4th Monday in July, A. D., 1838.
