STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA  COURT OF EQUITY       MECKLENBURG COUNTY
April Term, 1838

JAMES HARNETT
    vs.
JAMES SPRATT, ADM'R and the Heirs At Law of JAMES SPRATT, deceased

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that MARY SPRATT, LASTLY WRIGHT 
and his wife, MARTHA, NANCY SMITH, ALEXANDER GREER and his wife, PEGGY are not 
residents of this State. It is therefore ordered by the Court that publication 
be made for six successive weeks in the Charlotte Journal notifying said 
defendants, non-residents, to be and appear at our next Court of Equity to be 
held for the County of Mecklenburg at the Court House at Charlotte on the 3rd 
Monday in August next. Then and there to plead, answer or demur to this 
petition filed. Otherwide judgment will be taken pro confesso and the matter 
heard ex parte as to them. Witness, D. R. DUNLAP, Clerk of said Court at 
office on April 12, A.D. 1838.
