STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA  COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS   MECKLENBURG COUNTY
July Term 1839

SAM'L DAVIS, admr. of WALTER DAVIS, dec'd
    vs.
ANDREW L. DAVIS

Attachment: Levied on a tract of land, lying on the waters of McAlpin's Creek, 
adjoining the lands of JAMES H. DAVIS, JOHN H. HAND and others, and also on 
defendant's interst in Negro man named SOLOMAN, in the possession of MARY 
DAVIS. 

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendant, ANDREW L. 
DAVIS, does not reside in this State. It is therefore ordered by the Court 
that publication be made for six successive weeks notifying the said defendant 
to be and appear at our next Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for 
the County of Mecklenburg at the Court House in Charlotte on the 4th Monday in 
October next. Then and there to plead, answer, or demur to this petition 
filed. Otherwise, judgment will be taken pro confesso and the matter heard ex 
parte as to him. Witness BRALY OATES, Clerk of the said Court at office on the 
4th Monday in July, A. D. 1839.
