STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA  COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS   MECKLENBURG COUNTY
August Term, 1835

JAMES COX, to the use of THOMAS W. RODDEN
             vs.
ANDERSON BEATY

Orignial Attachment: Levied on Defendant's interest in a tract on Toby Creek, 
adjoining the lands of JOHN CALDWELL, ELIAS YOUNG, and others

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendant resides 
beyond the limits of this State, it is therefore ordered by the Court that 
publication be made for six successive weeks in the Charlotte Journal, 
notifying the said non-resident defendant to be and and appear at our next 
Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions to be held for said County at the Court 
House at Charlotte on the 4th Monday in November next, then and there to 
plead, answer or demur to this petition filed. Otherwise, judgment will be 
taken pro confesso and the matter heard ex parte as to him. Witness BRALY 
OATES, Clerk of the said Court at Office on the last Monday in August A.D., 
1835.
