STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA  COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS  MECKLENBURG COUNTY

             vs.
WM. L. WESTMORELAND

Original Attachment

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendant,  WM. L. 
WESTMORELAND, is not an inhabitant of this State. It is therefore ordered by 
the Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the Charlotte 
Journal notifying said defendant to be and appear at our next Court of Pleas & 
Quarter Sessions to be held for said County at the Court House at Charlotte on 
the 4th Monday in January next. Then and there to plead, answer or demur to 
this petition filed. Otherwise judgment will be taken pro confesso and the 
matter will be heard ex parte as to them. Witness BRALY OATES, Clerk of the 
said Court at office on the 4th Monday in October A.D. 1840.
