STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA   COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS  MECKLENBURG COUNTY
October Term, 1838

JOHN J. BLACKWOOD, Agent of the Bank of the State of North Carolina at 
Charlotte
                      vs.
HENRY BLUNDELL and others, members of the Anglo-American Gold Mining Co.

Original Attachment, Levied on the Washington Gold Mine tract on 12 Mile Creek,
on the Alexander Gold Mine tract, adjoining the lands of DAVID PARKS, and 
toher; also on a vriety of chattel property consisting of two steam engines, 
gold mills, mining tools, etc.

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendants, HENRY 
BLUNDELL, WILLIAM SMITH, JAMES MAGNUS, HENRY HEATHORN, GEO. D. LONGSTAFF, 
SOLOMAN COHEN, ABRAHAM HARRIS, SAMUEL MAGNUS, CHARLES BOND, ABRAHAM HART and 
DAVID WILSON, members of the Anglo American Gold Mining Co., do not reside in 
this State. It is therefore ordered by the Court that publication b emade for 
six successive weeks in the Charlotte Journal notifying said defendants, non 
residents, to be and appear at our next Court to be held for the County of 
Mecklenburg at the Court House in Charlotte on the 4th Monday in January next. 
Then and there to plead, answer or demur to this petition filed. Otherwise 
judgment will be taken pro confesso and heard ex parte as to the. Witness, 
BRALY OATES, Clerk of said Court at Office on the 4th Monday in October, A. 
D., 1838.
