Marriage This Evening

Mr. S.F. Patterson of Concord was married in the First Presbyterian church of
this city at 4 o'clock this afternoon to Miss Bessie Alexander. The ceremony
was performed by Rev. Dr. A.W. Miller, the pastor, the church being crowded
with the friends of the popular young couple eager to witness the interesting
event.

The groom is one of the promising young business men of the State. He is a
grandson of the late Gen. Samuel Patterson, who was for a long time
comptroller of the State of North Carolina and a man who was greatly admired
for his integrity and Christian values. His mother, who, before her marriage,
was a Miss Fries, was a lineal descendant of the first family who joined Count
Zinzendorf in the formation of the Moravian church. The bride is one of the
most attractive young ladies of this section and has admirers all through the
State.
