A popular and happily mated young couple were married last night at 9:30
o'clock when Miss Anna Clark was wedded to Mr. B.H. Burgess. The ceremony was
performed by Rev. J.F. Totten at the home of the bride's father, Mr. W.D.S.
Clark, No. 1119 South Caldwell Street. The marriage was a pretty one. The
bride was gowned in white batiste. The Mendelssohn wedding march was played by
Miss Selma Rogers, who also played during the ceremony the "Flower Song."
There were no attendants and intimate friends only were invited to be present
on this occasion.

Mr. and Mrs. Burgess are stopping for the present at the home of Mrs.
Whitaker, on East Boulevard. After three weeks they will go to Atlanta to
visit the relatives of the groom, a native of that city. He holds a
responsible position with the Southern Cotton Oil Company, with whom he has
been for four years.

Present at the marriage last night was a sister of the groom, Miss Hattie
Burgess, of Gastonia.
