FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. SUSAN BLAIR HELD

Service at Residence in Steele Creek Followed by Interment in Steele Creek 
Church

     Mrs. Susan Crowell Blair, wife of J.M. Blair of Dixie, died Wednesday 
morning at 2 o'clock at her home in Steele Creek township.  She was 81 years 
old in February.  The funeral was held yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at the 
residence, the service being conducted be Rev. J.W. Orr, pastor of Steele Creek 
church.  The interment was in the church graveyard.
     Mrs. Blair is survived by her husband, who is 78 years of age, and the 
following children  Mrs. R.A. Marshall, Mrs. S.L. Porter, Mrs. Bettie Abernethy 
and Miss Minnie Blair.  She is survived by five grandchildren, one of whom, 
Louis Marshall, is in the service.  He is a private at Camp Sevier, a member of 
the 115th machine gun company.
     Mrs. Blair was born in Steele Creek.  She was a daughter of Esau Crowell, 
and a sister of S.W. Crowell.  She was a life-long member of the Presbyterian 
church, her membership being always at Steele Creek church.  She was revered 
and beloved her influence extending far beyond the confines of her own 
neighborhood.
