This Indenture made this 28th day of February one thousand eight hundred and 
seventy six between Levi J. RHODES of the county of Jones and state of North 
Carolina of the first part, and Barbry F. QUINN of the same county and state 
of the second part. Witnesseth: That the said Levi J Rhodes for the love and 
affection that I have for my daughter Barbary F. QUINN the said party of the 
second part has given granted bargained and conveyed and does hereby give 
grant bargain and convey to the said party of the second part to her heirs and 
assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of 
Jones and State aforesaid and bounded as follows, Beginning at a Sweet Gum on 
the West side of the run of Reedy Branch and South side of ford? pocosin then 
S 9 West 80 poles to a stake then S 86 East 20 poles to a Black Gum in second 
branch the with the various courses of the own said branch to a gum where the 
mouth goes into Reedy Branch, then with the various courses of the run of 
Reedy Branch to the beginning containing forty acres more or less together 
with all and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto 
belonging too. To have and to hold the same unto her the said Barbary F. QUINN 
party of the second her heirs and assigns forever, and the said party of the 
first part for the consideration aforesaid does hereby covenant and agree to 
warrant and defend the premises aforesaid to the said party of the second 
part, her heirs executors and administrators and assigns against the claims of 
any and all persons whomsoever in fee simple forever, and the said Levi J. 
RHODES does further covenant that the aforesaid premises is the full share of 
my real estate allowed to her the said Barbry F. QUINN the aforesaid party of 
the second part. In testimony where of the said party of the first part has 
hereunto set their names and seals day and date first written.

 I Henry C. KOONCE do hereby certify Levi J. RHODES and Ann J. RHODES  his 
wife personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution 
of the foregoing deed of conveyance and the said Ann J. RHODES being by me 
privately examined separate and apart from her said husband touching her 
voluntary execution of the same doth state that she signed the same freely and 
voluntarily without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person 
and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto. Witness my hand and seal 
this the 25th day of February A.D. 1878.
