James J. RHODES to Owen B. COX

This indenture made this 18th day of January in the year of our Lord one 
thousand Eight hundred and thirty two between James J. RHODES of the county of 
Jones and State of North Carolina of the one part and Owin B. COX of the same 
County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that I the said James 
J. RHODES for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred Dollars to me in 
hand but he said Owin B. COX the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge 
and he the said J. J. RHODES hath granted bargained and sold conveyed and 
confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell convey and 
confirm unto the said Owne B. COX his heirs and assigns forever all my right 
title claim and interest which I have in the mills and the lands which was 
reserved in the division of the lands for the use of the mill which fell to me 
by heirship of the death of my father which consist of one fifth part of said 
mills & lands To have and to hold the said one fifth part of the said land and 
mills above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the heredetiments 
and appertaining thereunto belonging unto the said O. B. COX his Exrs. Add. or 
assigns forever to the only use of the said O.B. COX his heirs and assigns and 
I the said J.J. RHODES do for myself my heirs and assigns warrants and forever 
defend the aforesaid one fifth part of said Mills and lands free from all 
claims or claim from any person or persons whatsoever unto the said O. B. COX 
his heirs and assigns forever in Testimony whatsoever unto the said O.B. COX 
his heirs and assigns forever in Testimony whereof I have hereunto affixed my 
hand annexed seal date before written.
