This Indenture made the 29 day of May 1813 between William McDaniel of the
County of Jones and State of North Carolina of the one part and Zaddock Askey
of the same County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnessed that the
said William McDaniel for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred
dollars in hand paid by the said Zaddock Askey the receipts whereof I hereby
acknowledge have bargained and sold by these presents do bargain and sell unto
the said Askey a certain lot of ground on the south side of Trent River and on
the North side of the town of Trenton adjoining said town containing by
estimation one half an acre of grounds with the improvements there unto
belonging formerly the property of Dr. Rhodes Hazard which said bargained
premises the said William McDaniel for himself his heirs executors and
administrators will warrant and forever defend unto the said Zaddock Askey his
heirs assigns forever Witness by my hand and seal the day and year above
mentioned .
