"The Union Grove Enterprise" July 4, 1901---Edward Martin one of the earliest settlers in the town of Yorkville who has been in feeble health for some years past, died at his home, two miles north of this village,Thursday afternoon at the age of 84. Edward was a native of England and settled in Racine County in 1846 .
He was known as a progressive and industrious farmer ,as
well as an upright and honest man. he enjoyed the esteem and friendship of all who knew him.
Survived by his wife and four children; Robert Martin,Clear Lake, Iowa, Mrs Joseph Longmore, Sommers, Mrs. Will Willmore, Union Grove, Mrs Joseph Dowse of Racine. The funeral took place Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. W.W. Wilson,pastor of the M.E. Church.
