Aged 51 years

Born abt 1838 in Lenoir County, NC to Col. John & Nancy Ballard Williams. Lott 
never married but served in the military. He died at the age of 61 on June 7, 
1889 and is buried in the Col. John Williams Cemetery.
 
Tombstone reads:  "There is rest in Heaven."
 
"Private Lott Williams: Previously served as Private in Company B, 8th 
Battalion NC Partisan Rangers. Transferred to this company on October 2, 1863. 
Reported present through February 29, 1864. Hospitalized at Richmond, 
Virginia, June 29, 1864, with an unspecified complaint. Furloughed on August 
18, 1864. Returned to duty in September-October, 1864. Hospitalized at 
Wilmington on January 13, 1865, with pneumonia. Transferred to hospital at 
Raleigh on January 22, 1865. He was reported suffering from remittent fever. 
Returned to duty on February 1, 1865. Hospitalized at Greensboro on February 
28, 1865, with rubeola. Transferred to Raleigh on March 1, 1865. Transferred 
(presumably to another hospital) on March 13, 1865. No further records." NC
