Born to Caroline Williams & Williams Green Taylor on November 18, 1856. She 
had a twin brother, James Henry Taylor. She married George Washington Sutton, 
son of Sarah & John A. Suttton on May 11, 1884. They had five children: 
Blanchie Virginia Sutton, Carl Green Sutton, Annie Caroline Sutton, Adele 
Branch Sutton, and Arthur George Sutton. She died March 11, 1921.

Funeral of Ms. Sutton
Saturday After noon
The funeral of Ms. Nannie P. Sutton, a member of the most prominent families 
in Lenoir County, was held here Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Sutton was the wife 
of George W. Sutton, residing hear this city. She died Friday at 11 am. She 
had been ill four years. Mrs. Sutton was the daughter of W. G. and Mrs. 
Caroline Taylor. She was 64 years of age, having been born in 1856. She is 
survived by her husband, father and the following children: Miss Blanch 
Sutton, Mrs. Jacob Rhodes of Kinston, Mrs. Joe Koonce of Trenton, Carl Sutton 
and Arthur Sutton. She was the sister of the following well-known persons: 
Miss Olive B. Taylor, Ms. W. G. Fordham, John W. Taylor, a twin brother 
William E. Taylor, and L.B. Taylor. She was a consistent member of the 
Christian Church for many years. All the members of her family were at her 
bedside during the closing hours of her illness. Ms. Sutton was a woman of 
many likeable traits of character, and her patience under the stress of four 
years' treatment, often more or less of a heroic nature, was regarded by many 
as remarkable.
