Marriage---------Oct. 11, 1909 SPENCE--DUPREE Sunday afternoon, at 3 o'clock, Mr. Doc SPENCE and Miss Ada DUPREE, were married at the home of MR. B. Frank JONES, in Contentnea Neck township, Rv. Mr. PATTESHAW, of Grifton, performed the ceremony in the presence of a few friends, who had learned of the contemplated wedding. It was a runaway marriage, the young lady leaving her home near Kinston, ostensibly to pay a visit to friends in Neck township, where she was met Sunday afternoon by the bridegroom and the ceremony took place. The bride is the charming daughter of Mr. William DUPREE, who lives near the suburbs of the city. The bridegroom is a substantial young farmer of this county.
