Waters, Benjamin, 1st Lieutanant
Company C, 27th Regiment N.C. Troops
Resided in Lenoir County where he enlisted at age 32. Elected 2nd Lieutenant 
on April 17, 1861. Promoted to 1st Lieutenant on September 18, 1862. Present 
or accounted for until captured in an unspecified engagement in (September), 
1862. Confined at Fort Deleware, Delaware, until transferred to Aiken's 
Landing, James River, Virginia, October 2, 1862, for exchange. Declared 
exchanged at Aiken's Landing on November 10, 1862. Died on October 16, 1863. 
Place and cause of death not reported.
