Company C, 27th Regiment N.C. Troops
Resided in Lenoir County and enlisted in Craven County at age 17, July 15, 
1861. Present or accounted for until wounded in the head and/or right shoulder 
at Sharpsburg, Maryland, September 17, 1862. Returned to duty on an 
unspecified date. Paroled at Appomattox Court House, Virginia, April 9, 1865. 
(North Carolina pension records indicate he was wounded in the left knee at 
Fredericksburg, Virginia, on an unspecified date.]
