WILL OF JOSEPH WATSON

Found in NC Supreme Court Case #4387 posted on the Craven, Lenoir and Jones
County Archives sites. One item in this Will was found in case #6946 as was
the information regarding the husbands of Teresy and Susan Watson but the
complete Will was found in this case and gives the rest of Joseph Watson's
children. I have been unable to identify the husbands of the other daughters

JOSEPH WATSON DAUGHTERS

NOTE: Possible daughters

From Rebecca Hill Julia Watson's husband was probably named James Daughety.
Fanny Watson's husband was probably named Jesse Heath.

A death certificate for James Lafayette Daughety (born 13 December 1846, died
10 September 1922 in Sand Hill Township of Lenoir County) gives his father as James
Daughety and his mother as Julia Watson.

There is also a death certificate for the above James Lafayette Daughety's son,
commonly known as Fate Daughety. His death certificate refers to him as James
Lafayette Daughety, Sr. (born 2 December 1888, died 20 December 1959 in Lenoir
County) and gives his father as James L. Daughety and his mother as Harriet
Oglesby. His surviving spouse was Bertie Ada West (his second wife, the daughter
of Edward Ross West by his first wife, Susan Catherine Kilpatrick).

Edward Ross West's parents (per his death certificate) were Kenion West and
Teresa Watson. His first wife, Susan Catherine Kilpatrick appears to be the
granddaughter of Alexander Kilpatrick and Susan Watson; her father was Edward
Kilpatrick. His second wife, Julia Emma Heath, was the daughter of John A. B.
Heath, whose parents were (per his death certificate) Jesse Heath and Francis
Watson.

As for the other Watson daughter mentioned in the will and transcribed as
Beneter ??? Moore ???: Without a clearer name for her, this is a little more
difficult to unravel, but perhaps something will turn up. The Needham Moore
who bought at the estate sale of David Evans on 5 April 1845 is possibly of
interest.

Rebecca Hill

From Paula Baker - Basheba/Bareba Moore b. 1793 living with Roscoe/Rascoe Moore
in Lenoir in 1850.
