Last Will and Testament of DRURY HILL

APRIL 6, 1870
I, Drury Hill of the county of Lenoir and State of North Carolina being
of sound mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of human
existance, do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner
and form as follows viz.,
First- That my body be buried decently in accordance to the wishies of
my friends and that my Executor pay the expenses of the same with the
first money that shall come into his hands.
Item- I give and bequeath to my son JOHN D. HILL five acres of land on
the North side of the branch the same I bought of John Gray and all the
hogs that shall belong to me at the time of my death.
Item- I give and bequeath to my Granddaughter MARY ELIZABETH HILL mone
good yarn blanket and one good bed quilt.
Item- I give and bequeath to my Daughter, ESTHER HILL one good bed and
furniture.
Item- I give and bequeath to my children, PATSY SUTTON, HARDY HILL,
ELIZABETH JONES, ESTHER HILL, all the residue of my estate which shall
remain after all my just and lawful debts shall have been settled
including all my real and presonal estate, money and notes found on
hand,excepting so much as has been otherwise disposed of and bequeathed
in eal shares each to each.
I hereby appoint and constitute my son WILLIAM R. HILL my lawful
Executor to this my last will and testament and herby revoke and make
null and void all former testaments that may have been made by me, and
declare this my last will and testament. In witness where of I the said
Drury Hill do hereunto set my hand and seal the 6th day of April AD 1870

APPLICATION FOR THE PROBATE OF THE WILL OF DRURY HILL DECD.
The application of WILLIAM R. HILL respectfully shows.
That DRURY HILL died in said County on the first day of December 1870,
leaving a last will and testament whereby he appointed the said William
R. Hill the sole Executor to said will.
That the estate of the said Drury Hill de'cd consist of real and
personal property viz:., about ninety six acres of land valued at three
hundred and eighty four dollors, the personal property consists of corn,
hogs, fodder, household and kitchen furniture, farming inplement, one
house. Some unsolvent notes and about ten dollars in money with in the
aggregate three hundred dollars.
That the names and residence of the parties intitled to the said estates
property as follows.
JOHN D HILL---LENOIR COUNTY, NC
ESTHER HILL---LENOIR COUNTY, NC
PATSY SUTTON--LENOIR COUNTY, NC
HARDY HILL----LENOIR COUNTY, NC
ELIZABETH JONES-LENOIR COUNTY, NC
MARY E. HILL--LENOIR COUNTY, NC
The said Mary E. hill ia a minor and has for guardian JAMES M. HINES of
Lenoir County, NC.
The said William R. Hill hereby offers for probate the said will of the
said Drury Hill de'cd, and ask that the same be admitted to probate.
