I give and devise as follows. I desire my house and lot that I live on s hall be sold to the highest price at six months credit. I give Mary Rep(s) hens ?? one thousand dollars of the money arising from the sale of the house and lot. I give to my sister Ann Ellis my pictures and looking glass with the white frame that is in the front room. I give to John Witherspoon son of my friend the late Mrs. Mary Witherspoon five hundred dollars. I give to my nephew James Bright my desk and writing desk and all my books. I give to my nephew Richard Fonville two mahogany dining tables. I give to my niece Elisabeth Lovick all my household & kitchen furniture not otherwise given. I give to Richard Fonville the son of Richard Fonville one hundred dollars to buy him a horse. Whereas I am permitted by order of Craven county Court granted on my petition to emancipate at my pleasure my negroes; I give Chelsey and her children, Hannah, Rose, Abram, Robert, John, Moses, Sarah, Tenah and Ben and big Rose their freedom, and I hereby direct and require my executors to execute an other writing for the emancipating the said negroes, which may be thought necessary. Authorize and appoint John C. Stanly guardian of those said negroes as are underage and request him to bind or apply to the proper authority to find the said young negroes to suitable persons resident of Craven county until they attain the age of twenty one years. I give John C. Stanly two hundred dollars for his trouble he may have with any black people. I give Elizabeth Mosely the grandaughter of my sister Bright five hundred dollars. I give James Bright's daughters, Betsy and Sally, and Mrs. Elisabeth Lovit's two youngest daughters, that she may have at my death all the money, notes and bonds not otherwise disposed, that I have and debts to be divided equally with the four female children of Elisabth Lovit and James Bright. I desire my black women may have all the blankets and flannel and other cotton or thread that is found in the house at my death to be equally divided. I appoint Marcus Stephens and James Bright and Richard Fonville and William Lovit Executors to this my last Will & Testament. Signed E. Henry Acknowledged by the above named E. Henry to be her last Will & Testament in the presence of us this 26th day of February 1819 Frank Hawks Thos. Hubbard A Codicil to this my last Will I give to the Episcopal Church of Newbern of which I am amember the balance of the proceeds of the sale of house and lot in NewBern after the payment of the legacy to Mary Stephens. I also appoint Stephen B. Forbes an Executor of this my last Will. December 1, 1820 Signed E. Henry In presence of Name not readable I further make this Codicil to the foregoing last Will and testament. I revoke so much of the said will as gives any part of my estate to James Bright or to his children: and I give and bequeath to my sister, the mother of said Bright, all the property devised or bequeathed in the foregoing Will to Betsey and Sally Bright that my said sister may be enabled to purchase of James Bright the interest he has in the land on which my said sister now lives. I desire my executors named in the foregoing will to deliver the notes that may be found among my papers sealed up according to the directions on the envelopes of each.
