Mrs. Alex Linko transcribed the Bible from the original and I have used her transcription to try to read the copy of the original. Catherine Rouse was the daughter of Sarah Croom Hardee and her husband, generally written to have been Joseph Hardee although I am inclined to think he was Thomas Hardee, Her mother is proven in various Croom records. It has always been written that Jonathan Rouse was the son of John Rouse, but circumstantial evidence indicates he was the son of Simon Rouse. Jonathan married 2nd, Nancy, said to have been a Waters.
