The WILLIAM PARKER GILBERT BIBLE is owned by Jack P. Gilbert, a grandson. 


The Bible had an encounter with a dog many years before, and now has 
neither cover, with several pages missing front and back.

Hannah (Phillips) Gilbert was born July 25, 1851

Elizabeth Gilbert was born May 13, 1878

Stephen N. (Nathan) was born March 12, 1884

Martha E. (Elinor) {Sumrell} Gilbert was born Sept. 16, 1865

Hannah Gilbert, the wife of WP Gilbert departed this life April the 
 4th. 1884 in year of our Lord.

Frances Marion Gilbert was born April 30, 1888

George w. Gilbert was born August 16th 1889 

Willie Gilbert was born May 2th 1893

Mabel Gilbert was born May the 2nd 1983

Effie Gilbert was born September the 5th 1894

Mattie Gilbert was born April the 23rd 1896

Joseph Warren Gilbert son of W.P & M.E. Gilbert was born July 12, 1898

Selma Gilbert Daughter of WP & M.E. Gilbert was born July 27th 1900. 


George W. Gilbert died May 31st 1890 

Mattie Gilbert died June the 7th 1896

Effie Gilbert died May 7, 1900

WP Gilbert the husband of Martha E. Gilbert departed this life August 
  22, 1928 in the year our Lord. Age 75 yr. 6 mos, 1 day

Martha E. Phillips Sumrell died Dec. 13, 1929

Frances Marion Gilbert died Feb.20, 1971

Willie Gilbert Pollock died March I, 1985

Mable Gilbert Freeman died Feb. 11, 1980

Joseph Warren Gilbert died Aug 31, 1981

Selma Gilbert Phillips died Feb. 22, 1993

WP Gilbert and Martha E. Sumrell was married May 27, 1885 or May 7, 1885 
(the 2 was blacken out in first of two entries)
