Bio: James Ames :Ashland, Grafton County, New Hampshire

James Ames, a native of New Market, N. H., married Comfort Masten. Caleb,
one of his eight children, married Sarah, daughter of William and Sarah
Burleigh. William Burleigh served in the Revolutionary war and was at the
battle of Burgoyne. Daniel H., youngest son of Caleb Ames, who had seven
children, married twice, first, Mary M. Batchelder, and second, Anna B.,
daughter of Alonzo and Theodate Cheney, of Boston, Mass. He has four
children and resides in this town, on road 19, corner 20.
