Robert Patten came to Alexandria from Londonderry, N. H., about seventy
years ago. Jonathan, one of his four children, married Margaret, daughter
of Samuel and Margaret (Ross) Clark, and reared three children, namely,
Sophia, now dead, Mary Fernald, of Orange, and Samuel S., of this town. The
latter married Etta, daughter of William L. and Lizzie (Bailey) Bailey, and
has four children, as follows: Dora M., Chester S., Lura L. and Lena E. He
resides on a farm on road 29.
