John Patten served in the Revolutionary war, enlisting when he was but
sixteen years of age. He married Jane Abbot, who bore him eleven children.
His son Benjamin A. married Polly Hastings, and reared five children,
namely Emily, Amanda, Jonas, Manson, and Seth G. The last mentioned lives
here on road 34.
