                                         Falling Creek, Near Mosley Hall

Dear Son    I am Blest with this opportunity once more to inform you 
that I am well at this time.   I hope these Lines will fine you and your 
family all well.  Your Brother and Sister and there familys are all 
well.  Corn Crops are vearey good in our Countrey All though in Some 
parts of our Land have Ben Some Seviar hail Storms.  whitch have Cut Sum 
Crops Short.  But there will Be a plenty  ?  and to Spare.  Our Cotton 
Crops dont come on as good as we Expected.  Old Corn is worth 7 
Shilling per Bushel.  Cotton ten cents per pound.  Bacon 12 cents per 
pound.  I Saw your Letter you Rote to Nathan Skinner.  Whitch maid me 
Sorrey to hire that your Crops where cut of with the drouth and Corn was 
hard to get, you Say corn was from $1.50 to $2.00 per Bushel.  That 
Looks Like hard times.  You Rote to me that you Exspected to move in 
Allabamma next year to Live   if you do go I want you to Rite to me 
where I can direct my Letters.  As I want to Rite to you and hire from 
you as Long as I Live.  I never Exspect to forsake you as Long as I 
Live.  I wish I was with you or you with me as we mite Be Some 
Consolation to Each other.  But I never Exspect to See you any more 
Except you come to this to this Countrey.  for I am old and never 
Exspect to Come to that Countrey.   I work a Boughts when I am able to 
try to keep from Being a County Charge.  I am at this time Living with 
James M. Hines  But dont Exspect to Stay vearey Long.  when I am not at 
work any where.  I Stay with Nathan Skinner.  Give my Compliments to 
Zaciriah Daughety and his family and all your friends.  My Dear Beloved 
Daughter Sarah Daughety  I give my Best Respects to you.  Hoping god 
will Bless (?) you and your husband and your Children that you all may 
So Live that you may Recive the good things of Life.  And be maid happy 
in the wourld to Come where we may meet to praise god for Ever amen.  
Fare well my Children.  My hart is full. And my Eyes are full of tears  
Rite Every opportunity.
