This Indenture made this 29th day of June A.D. 1869 between John A. PARROTT,
administrator of Michael TILGHMAN, deac’d of the first and Wm. W. N. HUNTER of the
second part, both of the County of Lenoir and State of North Carolina. Witnesses:
that whereas the said John A. PARROTT as administrator as aforesaid did in obedience
to an order and decree of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of the said County
of Lenoir, granted at the March term 1868 of the said Court, advertised and sell at
Public such this lands belonging to the Estate of said dec’d; at which sale
William W. N. HUNTER became the purchaser, he being the best and highest bidder, of
this following described piece or parcel of land at and for the price of three
hundred and sixty dollars. Now therefore this indenture witnesseth. That the said
John A. PARROTT, administrator as aforesaid for and in consideration of the said sum
of three hundred and sixty dollars to him in hand paid by the said William W. N.
HUNTER the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath given, granted, bargained
and sold an doth by these presents, give, grant, bargain and sell tot he said
William W. N. HUNGER, his heirs or assigns, the said tract of parcel of land lying
on the south side of Neuse River and situate as follows, that is to say; beginning
at the TILGHMAN’S corner, a bunch of pines on the Main Road near the flat branch
and runs with the TILGHMAN lines South 2 East, one hundred and twenty five (125)
poles to a corner in TAYLOR’S old field then a straight line to a branch of Maples
in TAYLORS watering hold his corner; thence north thirty nine (39) East about one
hundred and twenty poles (120) to a White Oak near the Main Road (now down) Mrs.
HILLS and J. H. PEEBLES corner, then up the road its various courses to the
beginning containing about forty nine acres more or less. T have and to hold to him
the said William W. N. HUNTER his heirs & assigns, all the above described land and
premises and all the improvements, privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging.
And the said John A. PARROTT, as administrator as aforesaid will warrant and defend
all this right, title and interest, owned, possessed and enjoyed by his said
intestate to the said William W. N. HUNTER his heirs or assigns forever.

the date first above written.

Lenoir County, IN the Probate Court. The Execution of the foregoing and within deed
from Jno. A. PARROTT & W. W. N. HUNTER was this 27 day of Sept. 1869 acknowledged
before the undersigned judge of Probate for said County & the said John A. PARROTT
is therefore let the said deed with this certificate be registered.
67-State tax duly paid.

In Testimony whereof the said William W. N. HUNTER hath hereunto set his hand and
seal the date for herein written.

Lenoir County, in the Probate Court.
Be it remembered that on this 30th Sept. 1869, before 4th undersigned Judge of
Probate for said county personally came, Wm. W. N. HUNTER & Ada HUNTER the persons
described in and who signed the foregoing & within deed and acknowledged the due
execution thereof by them as their act & deed. And thereupon the said Ada HUNTER
being by the undersigned privately examined breaking her free consent in the
execution thereof doth declare on sash in her examination that she had executed the
same freely of her own will and accord & without any force fear of undue influence
of said husband or any other person, and did sett voluntarily assent thereto.
Therefore let the said deed with this certificate be register.
