McMillion/McMillion Deed, 1815 - Patrick Co. VA

Deed to Dudley McMillion from William McMillian
           Patrick County, Virginia, 1815

This Indenture made and patented unto this 10 day of February, 1815, Between 
DUDLEY MCMILLION of the County of Patrick of the one part and WILLIAM 
MCMILLION of the aforesaid County of the other part, In Witness for and in 
consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars, to him the said WM MCMILLION 
in hand paid by the aforesaid DUDLEY MCMILLION the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged hath bargained, sold, and released unto the said DUDLEY 
MCMILLION one certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the 
County aforesaid on the headwaters of Loving's Creek containing one hundred 
and eighty five acres, be the same more or less, and bounded as follows, to 
wit, Beginning at an apple tree in JESSE MANKIN'S line then running N61 E34 
poles to a corner N33 S68 poles to pointers on an Arm of the Blue Ridge N7 W8 
poles to pointers N80 W67 poles to pointers on a ridge thence on the same to 
a Spanish Oak N60 W78 poles to pointers on a branch, thence down the same as 
it meanders 135 poles to a  corner 20 W92 poles to a White Oak N71 E4 poles 
to pointers on a branch S24 E6 poles to pointers on FARMER'S line with his 
line N67 E20 to a chestnut tree on a branch, thence up the same as it 
meanders to a poplar N65 E84 poles to a maple N20 E40 poles to pointers on a 
branch hence up the same N42 E28 to the Beginning, with all woods, ways, 
water, & water courses fences trees orchards Houses and all other the 
Emoluments appertaining  or in any wise belonging thereunto, to have and to 
hold the same to him DUDLEY MCMILLION his heirs and assigns forever against 
me and my heirs and either of us and said heirs and all and every other 
person or persons whatsoever either in law or equity, recovering, claiming, 
or having any just right, title, or estate therein but so by these presents 
forever warrant and defend the land above mentioned to the said DUDLEY 
MCMILLION his heirs and assigns to hold and fully enjoy the same. In witness 
I hereunto have set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year above 
written.

The within written Indenture was acknowledged in court to be the act and deed 
of the within named WILLIAM MCMILLION, the same was ordered to be recorded.

Note 1: DUDLEY MCMILLION is the son of Abraham and Elizabeth McMillian. He  
was born in North Carolina and married Elizabeth Hicks on July 4, 1805, in 
Patrick County, Virginia.
