Sharp/Lyon Bond & Return, 1828
BOND
Know all men by these presents that we S Sharp Alex Murphy are held and
firmly bound unto William B. Giles esq. Governor of the Commonwealth of
Virginia and his successors in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to
which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs & do
Jointly with severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and
dated this 19th day of March 1828
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas a marriage
is intended to be solemnized between the above bound Samuel Sharp and Fanny
T. Lyon of Patrick County. Now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the
said marriage then the above obligation is to be void else to remain in full
force and virtue.

9 of March A.D. 1829, viz., Samuel Sharp and Frances T. Lyon, Edmund
Collings and Eliza Tucker, William Joyce and Betsey Bosteck, Bartlett
Greenwood and Polly Poore, Robert Glasgow and Polly Belcher, Allen Joyce and
Sally Poore, Tyra Shelton and Rebecca Booker, Marlin Clifton and Susan
Barrott and Jefferson Penninq and Eady Radford.
