BOND

Know all men by these presents that we Joseph Sharp & Nathl. Shelton are 
held and firmly bound unto his Excelencey James N. Barbour Governor of the 
Comwealth of Virginia, and his successors in office, in the Just & full sum 
of one hundred & fifty dollars to which Payment well & Truly to be made we 
bind ourselves our heirs, etc. firmly by these presents sealed with our 
seals & dated this 28th day of July 1813 & in the 38th year of the 
Comwealth, the Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the 
sd. Joseph Sharp hath this day obtained from the clerk of the county of 
Patrick a license for his Intermarrying with Salley Shelton of the Said 
County of Patrick.  Now if there should be no lawfull cause to obstruct or 
why the sd. mariage for which said License is granted should or ought not to 
take place, then this obligation to be void.
