Name of Bride: Matilda ANGLIN
Surety: Philip ANGLIN
Date: 20 August 1807
Know all men by these presents, that we Charles Sharp & Phillip Anglin are
held and firmly bound unto his excellency, Wm. H. Cabell, governor or chief
magistrate of the commonwealth of Virginia, in the just and full sum of one
hundred and fifty dollars, to which payment well and truly to be made to our
said governor or his successors, for the use of the said commonwealth, we
bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and
severally, firmly by these presents: Sealed with our seals and dated this
20th day of August 1807 in the 32d Year of the commonwealth.
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a
marriage shortly intended to be had and solemnized between the above bound
Charles Sharp & Matilda Anglin ---
If therefore there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then
the above obligation to be void, or else to remain in full force and virtue.

Whereas Charles Sharp hath compiled with the requisites of the law for
obtaining a license to intermarry with Matilda Anglin of said County: These
are therefore to license and permit you to join together in the holy estate
of matrimony, according to the rites and ceremonies of your church, the said
Charles Sharp and Matilda Anglin.
And for so doing this shall be your sufficient warrant. Given under my hand
at office this 20th day of August 1807, in the 32d year of the Commonwealth.
To any minister legally authorised Samuel Staples Cl. P.Ct.
to celebrate the rites of matrimony.
