Isaac COLEMAN vs John CRUMPLER & Mary CRUMPLER, Lenoir County, N.C.
 
Filed 24 Dec 1830. In Court of Equity April 1824. John CRUMPLER is Sheriff of 
Sampson Co., N.C.

Lenoir County.  Bill of Complaint of Isaac COLEMAN to Judge of Equity. 
About 29 Dec. 1790, Thomas COLEMAN of Craven County made his LW&T, & then he 
died shortly thereafter. At June 1791 Court, Benjamin COLEMAN exr. probated the 
LW&T. 

Thomas COLEMAN at his death, possessed two Negroes: Jasper & Doll, among other 
Negroes. He gave them to his wife Mary COLEMAN during her life, and after her 
death, to go to his two daughters, Mary & Sarah COLEMAN.

The two daughters have since died (leaving no will). Isaac COLEMAN was given 
adm. of their estates.

Widow Mary COLEMAN already has sold some of the Negroes (children of Doll) to 
John CRUMPLER of Sampson Co., and Isaac COLEMAN is afraid CRUMPLER will take 
the Negroes out of State.

Bond of Mary COLEMAN ["x" her mark] & Thomas PHILLIPS bound to Isaac COLEMAN, 
the admr. of Mary & Sarah COLEMAN, deceased, for $6,000.

Isaac COLEMAN was to get the Negroes upon the death of Mary COLEMAN, & Mary & 
Sarah COLEMAN were her daughters.

Thomas COLEMAN did make his will 29 Dec. 1790 & it was proved June Ct 1791.

The Sheriff is to take the bodies of John CRUMPLER, Allen MOBLEY, & John Turner 
CARR, if in your county, and have them come to Lenoir County.

Feb. 1828. CARR is dead, & Jonathan CARR has been appointed admr of John Turner
CARR (who was living Nov. 1824, when he signed to appear) 16 April 1828.
