RACHEL COX, JULIA LOFTIN, WILLIAM A. COX executor of OWEN B. COX, decd, STEPHEN GOODING & LOUISA 
his wife, NATHAN PARKER, NANCY PARKER, JOHN PARKER and WILLIAM L. PARKER, the four last named 
infants, buy their Guardian JOSEPH R. CROOM

Humbly complaining shewith unto your Honour your Orator DANIEL MILLER and WINEFRED his wife, JOHN 
DAVISE and LITIA his wife, IMLA N. MILLER & MARY his wife of the County of Lenoir; that JOHN 
PARKER Senior late of said county was in his lifetime and at the time of his death, seased of a 
large real estate and possessed of and well entitled unto a considerable personal estate, 
consisting of negroes, stock of cattle and divess other effects, of considerable value, and that 
the said JOHN PARKER in and about the month of December AD 1844 departed this life intestate 
leaving your Oratores, WINEFRED the wife of your Orator DANIEL MILLER, LILA the wife of your 
Orator JOHN DAVSE, MARY the wife of your Orator IMLA N. MILLER, the defendants RACHEL COX widow of 
OWEN B. COX, dec, JULIA LOFTIN widow of MAJOR C. R. LOFTIN, his Daughters and the defendants 
LOUISA wife of the defendant STEPHEN GOODING, NATHAN PARKER, JOHN PARKER, NANCY PARKER, WILLIAM L. 
PARKER, children of his decd son ZEUSIS PARKER who died in the lifetime of the said JOHN PARKER 
Senior , intestate, his grandchildren, next of kin and heirs at law; Yours Oratores further shew 
unto your Honour that since the death of the said Intestate JOHN PARER, dec, your Orators DANIEL 
MILLER, JOHN DAVSE, and OWEN B. COX, the later having since decd, obtained letter of 
administration of the goods, chattles, rights and credits of the said intestate, to be granted to 
them by and out of the court of Pleas and Quarter Session of Lenoir County and by virtue there of 
possessed themselves o the personal estate and effects of the said intestate to a large amount and 
value and which more than sufficient to pay and satisfy his just debts and funeral expenses, your 
Orators further shew unto your Honour that the said OWEN B. COX on or about the day of --- AD 184- 
having first duly made his last will and testament in writing departed this life and appointed 
WILLIAM A. COX hereafter named executor of his said will in and by the said will is the probate 
thereof when produced will appears, And your Orators further shew unto your Honour that the said 
WILLIAM A. COX above after the death of the said testator duly proved the will in the court of 
Please & Quarterfor the county of JONES and possessed himself of the personal estate and effects 
of the said testator to an amount much more than sufficent to pay his just debts & funeral 
expenses, And your Orator further shew unto your Honour, that upon the death of the said Intestate 
JOHN PARKER decd and in the lifetime of the said OWEN B. COX your Orator together with the 
defendant being next of Kin and heir at law of the said intestate proceeded to make an actual 
partition or division of the negroes and real estate of the said intestate, according to their 
respective rights and interest - they being tenants in common of the same in the partition of one 
ninth to each of your petitioners, DANIEL MILLER, WINIFRED his wife, JOHN DAVISE & LITIA his wife, 
IMA MILLER & MARY his wife, OWNE B. COX & RACHEL his wife, MAJOR C. R. LOFTIN and JULIA his wife, 
and one sixth jointly to LOUISA GOODING, NATHAN PARKER, JOHN PARKER, NANCY PARKER & WILLIAM L. 
PARKER, they representing their draw father ZEADUS PARKER, a son of the said intestate JOHN PARKER 
And such partition was actually made & assigned to be made; inrespevtion of any advancement made 
by the said intestate in his lifetime to any of his children, his next of kin and of all advantage 
to be devised therefrom the same being served and intended to be enforced by the said parties upon 
the final settlement or division of the personal estate of the said intestate. Your orators 
further show unto your Honour that MAJOR C. R. LOFTIN the husband of the defendant JULIA LOFTIN 
departed this life after the division or partition of the said slaves and lands of the said 
intestate & consequently settled his possession the said slaves.
Your orator shew unto your Honour that your orator DANIEL MILLER & JOHN DAVISE surviving 
administrators of the intestate JOHN PARKER dec after paying all the debts and funeral expenses of 
the said intestate & settling the said estate, have now in their hands of the estate of the said 
intestate the sum of $---- which has now been duly ascertained by an account take under the 
authority & by the direction of this Honorable court, being the resedue of said estate which is 
distributed as aforesaid between your Orators and the said defendants according to the ??? 
respecting the distribution of intestates personal estate. Your orator further shows unto your 
Honour that the said intestate JOHN PARKER, dec, in his lifetime upon the death of his Brother 
GABRIEL PARKER intestate in the state of Georgia, suceded as his next of kin and heir at law to a 
large and valuable personal and real estate in said state, consisting of a valuable plantation and 
large number of slaves and that the said intestate JOHN PARKER in his life time gave an advance to 
his son ZEASAS PARKER, the father of the defendants LOUISA GOODING, NATHAN PARKER, JOHN PARKER, 
NANCY PARKER & WILLIAM L. PARKER a tract of land lying and being in Lenoir County in Trent River 
on ? the sum of fifteen hundred dollars as or more to purchase the same and which said tract of 
land the said ZEANIS PARKER subsequently sold to JAMES NUNN and upon the removable of the said 
ZEANIS PARKER from this State to the State of Georgia, the said JOHN PARKER in order the ? to set 
up and establish in life the said ZEANIS PARKER in said state, upon his said removable there, gave 
and advanced to the said ZEANIS PARKER in ? bonds & notes upon & due from responsible individuals 
in said State the sum of fifteen hundred dollars , being the bonds or notes of certain citizens of 
Lee County in that state as your Orators have been informed by the name of SHOTWELL and further by 
way of advancement to the said ZEANIS PARKER permitted and gave to ZEASIS PARKER one years use and 
enjoyment of his said plantation & negroes which he inhabited in said State from his brother, 
GABRIEL PARKER, dec, together with the profits and produce therefore said year which your Orator 
have been informed & believe were not only worth but amounted to the sum of Eighteen hundred 
dollars and your Orators charge that the said JOHN PARKER departed this life intestate without 
ever receiving the possession of the said advancement or receiving any portion therefore, as of 
calling the said ZEASIS PARKER or any of his representatives to an account for the same, and that 
the defendant STEPHEN GOODING & LOUISA his wife, NATHAN PARKER, JOHN PARKER, NANCY PARKER, 
WILLIAM  L. PARKER have had the full benefit and advantage of the said advancement to their Father, in 
the increased value and quanity of his estate upon a distribution of the sum ? amongst them, and to 
which they have suceeded as his children & next of kin, he having departed this life intestate in 
the lifetime of his father the intestate JOHN PARKER, dec - Your Orators shew unto your Honour 
that your Orators DANIEL MILLER & JOHN DAVISE surviving administrators of the intestate JOHN 
PARKER, dec are anxious and desirous of settling the Estate of them now Intestate and of 
distributing the said sum of & ---- being the entire resedue of the estate of the said intestate 
which has not been disposed of & divided among his said next of kin, between and among your 
Orators and the said defendants his next of kin according to the statue made respecting the 
distribution of Intestate estate, but your Orator charge and so over the fact to be that the 
defendants STEPHEN GOODING & LOUISA his wife, NATHAN PARKER, NANCY PARKER, JOHN PARKER, 
WILLIAM L. PARKER are not entitled to share equally in right of their Father ZEASIS PARKER in & to
one sixth of the aforesaid clear resedue of the estate of the intestate JOHN PARKER with your Orator and 
the other defendants inas much as their said father ZEASIS PARKER was advanced in his lifetime by the 
said JOHN PARKER, dec and the said defendants will bring into hotchpot ? in the division of said 
resedue, the lands monies & profits which were so given by said JOHN PARKER, dec to their father 
ZEASIS PARKER ----- the defendants are bound to before they can claim any share or portion of the 
estate of the said intestate to which they are entitled ---- (repeating what has already been 
said) ----- the defendant RACHEL COX survived her husband, OWNE B COX and the said OWEN B. COX 
departed this life before he reduced into possession the share of the said RACHEL --- yet the 
Orators have been informed and believe that the said RACHEL COX hath for a valuable consideration 
sold and released her said estate and interest to the defendant WILLIAM A. COX, executor of OWNE 
B. COX for the benefit and advantage of the estate of his said testator ---- Orators are advised 
that the defendant JULIA LOFTIN having survived her husband MAJOR C. R. LOFTIN, is entitle in her 
own right to one ninth part of the aforesaid resedue of the estate ----- your Orators request the 
said defendants RACHEL COX, JULIA LOFTIN, WILLIAM A. COX Ex of OWNE B. COX, STEPHEN GOODING & 
LOUISA his wife, NATHAN, JOHN, NANCY & WILLIAM L. PARKER join and make a just and equal partition --
