These obituaries that have been passed down in my family--they are 
newspaper clippings from Kinston, Lenoir Co.

Death of Mrs. DUPREE----Aug. 24, 1929
Mrs. Virginia DUPREE, 75, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. D.I. 
SPENCE, 113 North Independence St., of the infirmities of old age, 
Saturday evening about 7 o' clock. She had been in ill health some time. 
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. SPENCE and Mrs. Thurba WADE, of a 
rural point near here. Mrs. SPENCE was extensively related in this 
section. She was a woman of estimable Christian character. The funeral 
was held from the home Sunday afternoon at 5 o' clock. Rev. Eugene C. 
FEW, pastor of Queen Street Methodist Church, officiated. The following 
were pallbearers: J.T. WHITFIELD, T.W. HEATH, Carl SUTTON, Herbert HILL, 
V.A. ABBOTT, and Bernice ARTHUR. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.
