Ina Kyle Davis

In Lenoir County on Friday Sept 17, 1880, Ina Kyle, daughter of Mr. And
Mrs C.P. Davis.

She was too frail for earth's employ,
Too sweet, too pure for human joy,
She has gone, her sufferings are no more,
May she bear on her spotless wings a kiss
For us, to her sister on the spirit shore;
And when life's sad dream is oe'r
May the two meet us at the riverdark
To guide us up with their snowy bark.

Mattie Eileen Davis

Davis-At the residence of D.M. Stanton in La Grange, NC, Mattie Eileen,
infant twin of Mr. And Mrs C.P. Davis,

Two buds in the garden of life bloomed side by side;
Eileen drooped, withered and died;
Two buds were parted by death's clashing tide,
Eileen bloom in heaven-- the other on earth Abides.

(NOTE: The Bible records indicate that both girls died on the same day,
but that
is not how I read the obituaries. --CPM)
