Raleigh Man Dies of Paralysis Stroke
Mr. J. M. Byrd died yesterday after noon at 3 o'clock following a stroke 
of paralysis, at his home on 604 S. Person Street. He was stricken 
Wednesday after noon and never rallied.

Mr. Byrd was in his sixty-seventh year. Besides his wife, his companion 
for 52 years, he is survived by one son, Mr. T.M. Byrd of this city, and 
three daughter, Mrs. Roy Creel, also of this city; Mrs. James Hazzard, 
of Kinston and Mrs. S.W. Scarboro of Fayetteville. All except Mrs 
Hazzard were with him when the end came.

Mr. Byrd was born and raised in Lenoir County, but had made his home in 
Raleigh for ten years. He had made many friends here.

The remains will be taken this morning to Kinston, where the interment 
will take place.
