Mrs. Maggie Byrd Dies at Age of Seventy two
Mrs Maggie Byrd, widow of the late Joshua M. Byrd, died Tuesday Night, 
May 8 at the home of her daughter, Mrs Roy E. Creel. The remains were 
taken to Kinston for interment. Mrs Byrd is survived by one son, T.M. 
Byrd of Raleigh, Mrs Roy E. Creel, also of Raleigh, Mrs James Hazard, of 
Kinston, Mrs S.W. Scarboro of Fayetteville and by fifteen grandchildren 
and twelve great grandchildren.

Mrs Byrd was seventy-two years of age and had been in feeble health 
practically ever since the death of her husband, which occurred just 
four years and five days before her own death; though her condition had 
been critical only about ten days. Mrs Byrd had been a member of the 
..Methodist Church of Kinston for years. Funeral services will be held 
at Maplewood Cemetery
