A. B. WATSON to Frederick JONES of Lenoir Co., NC

This Indenture made this the first day of December in the year of our Lord One 
Thousand Eight Hundred & fifty nine between A. B. WATSON of the County of Lenoir 
and State of North Carolina of the one part and Fredrick JONES of the county and 
State aforesaid of the other part. Witnessseth that the said A. B. WATSON for 
and in consideration for he sum of One Thousand dollars to him in hand paid at 
the time of executing these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged 
have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give and grant 
bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Frederick JONES his heirs and 
assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being int he County 
of Lenoir on the North side of Neuse River adjoining the lands of Council H. 
CLARK and others and bounded as follows viz: Beginning at a Cypress in 
Stonington Creek at a bend of the Creek called the Mill dam hole and Runs N 68 
1/4 W 44 poles to a large marked Pine upon the hill then N 40 West 58 poles to 
the center of the main Road thence N 51 1/4 Est 109 poles and 15 links to a 
stake West of he Road then South 52 1/2 Est 202 poles to a stake then S 46 1/2 W 
3 poles to a large Pine on the Creek bank at the Indigo hole thence up the 
various courses of the Creek to the beginning containing one hundred and seven 
acres more or less it being the fifth lot in division of the land of the late 
Reuben CLARK.
To have and to hold the above described land and premises unto him the said 
Frederick JONES his heirs and assigns in fee simple forever, And the said A. B. 
WATSON and his heirs all and Singular the premises hereby conveyed to the said 
Frederick JONES his heirs and assigns do and will warrant and forever defend 
from the lawful claim of every and all persons whatsoever. In witness whereof 
the said A. B. WATSON hath hereunto se this hand and seal the day and year above 
written.

Then was the Execution of the forgoing deed proved before me ind ue form of Law 
by the Oath of Charles M. GRIFFIN the Subscribing witness thereto, Let said deed 
together with this certificate be Registered.
