This Deed made this 30th day of January 1886, by Calvin JONES of Montgomery 
County, and State of Texas of the first part to Frederick JONES of Lenoir County 
and State of North Carolina of the second part. Witnesseth: That said Calvin 
JONES in consideration of One hundred dollars to him paid by Frederick JONES, 
the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has bargained and sold, and by 
these presents does bargain, sell and convey to said Frederick JONES and his 
heirs and assigns, a tract of land in Lenoir County, State of North Carolina 
adjoining the lands of said Frederick JONES and others, bounded as follows, viz: 
One half interest in lot No. one in the division of the land of Rubin CLARK, 
deceased which lot descended to the said Calvin JONES and his sister Susan JONES 
as the grand children of the said Rubin CLARK, deceased. Beginning in the center 
of the road where Southern line of the tract crosses the roads & runs N 40 W 103 
1/3 poles to a Post Oak in the edge of the Savannah, then S 55 W 39 poles to a 
stake centered by a large red oak, then N 54 W 41 1/2 poles to the old County 
line then North with Old County line 104 poles to a marked dead pine in the 
Savanah, then S 61 3/4 E 249 poles to a stake West of the main road S 51 1/4 W 
109 poles & 15 links to the beginning containing about 110 acres more or less.
To have and to hold the aforesaid one half interest in said tract and all 
privileges and appurtenances thereto, belonging to the said Frederick JONES his 
heirs and assigns first that he is seized of said premises in fee, and has right 
to convey the same in fee simple that the same are free from all encumbrances, 
and that he will warrant and defend the said title to the same, against the 
claims of all persons whatsoever.
In testimony whereof the said Calvin JONES has hereunto set his hand and seal, 
the day and year above written. Attest.

Before me B. D. GRIFFIN, Clerk of the County Court, in and for Montgomery 
County, Texas on this day personally appeared Calvin JONES, known to me to be 
the person whose name is subscribed to the foregoing attached instrument and 
acknowledged to me that he executed the same for the purposes and consideration 
therein expressed. Given under my hand and seal of office, this 30th day of 
January A.D. 1886.

The foregoing certificate of B. D. GRIFFIN, CCC of Montgomery County, Texas is 
adjudged to be correct and sufficient. Let the instrument, with the certificates
