Deed March 14, 1872 Franklin Dail to John D. Hill 

This indenture made this the 14 day of March in the year of our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred Seventy two between Franklin Dail of the first part; 
and John D. Hill of the afore said County, and State of the Second part 
Witnesseth that I Franklin Dail for, and in consideration of the Sum of twenty 
$20.00 dollars to me in hand paid by Said John D. Hill the receipt s whereof: 
I the Said Franklin Dail doth hereby acknowledge hath given, granted, Sold, 
and bequeathed, and by these presents, doth Sell, convey, and confirm unto the 
Said John D. Hill his heirs, and assigns forever a certain parcel of land 
bounded as follows. Commencing at the foot of the lane West of John D. Hill's 
Dwelling house; at a Stake and runs S 66 % E 92 poles to a pine Stump on the 
John Noble's Corner; then with the marsh run S 63 W 7 poles to a Small Black 
gum; thence N 64 1/4 W 51 poles to a lightwood Stake in front of the Said 
Dwelling House. Thence N 61 W 30 poles to a lightwood Stump on the South Side 
of the afore said lane thence N 59 W 14 % poles to the beginning containing 
two, and one half acres more or less. To have and to hold the Said land with 
all its privilidges thereunto belonging whereoff I have hereunto Set my hand 
and affixed my Seal the day and date above written.

LENOIR COUNTY ---IN THE PROBATE COURT 
The execution of the within and foregoing Deed from Franklin Dail to John D. 
Hill was, the 23rd day of March 1872, proved before the undersigned, Probate 
Judge of said County, by the Oath and examination of M B Creech, the 
subscribing witness thereto. 
Therefore, let said Deed, with this Certificate, be registered. 
Witness my hand and official seal.

Enrolled in the Registers office of Lenoir County this 27 Day of March 1872, 
in Book 40, page 78&79.
