Deed  - 30 Nov. 1917 from Robert J. Mooring and wife Annie L. Mooring to Frank 
D. Hill 

North Carolina, Lenoir County 
This indenture made and entered into this 30th day of November, 1917, by and 
between Robert J. Mooring and his wife, Annie L. Mooring, parties of the first 
part, and Frank D. Hill, party of the second part, witnesseth  
That first parties for and in consideration of the sum of THREE THOUSAND 
DOLLARS to them in hand paid by the party of the second part, the receipt 
whereof is hereby acknowledged, have and by these presents to bargain, sell, 
convey, and confirm unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns 
in fee simple forever the following described tract or parcel of land situated 
in Institute Township, Lenoir County and State aforesaid, adjoining the lands 
of the Milton Creech heirs, Frank Sullivan, John Edmundson, and this second 
party, and others and begins at a poplar tree on the Marsh and runs S 65 E 10 
poles to a maple, thence S 47 % E 76 poles to a corner just south of the 
plantation a road, thence S 65 % E 30 poles to a stake in Frank Sullivan's 
field, thence N 23 E 32 poles to an oak stump, thence N 13 % W 89 poles to a 
Lightwood knot corner, thence N 66 % W 26 poles to the Swamp, thence with the 
meander of the ditch to the beginning, containing 45  acres, more or less, To 
have and to hold the aforesaid premises to this second party, his heirs and 
assigns in fee simple forever and these first parties covenant to and with the 
second party, his heirs and assigns, that they are seized of the aforesaid 
premises in fee and have a good right to convey the same and that they will 
warrant and defend the title to the same against the lawful claims of all 
person. In testimony whereof these first parties have hereunto set their hands 
and seals the date above written.

I, Samuel Abbott, a Notary Public for Lenoir County, do certify that Robert J. 
Mooring and his wife, Annie L. Mooring, personally appeared before me this day 
and acknowledged the due execution of the foregoing annexed conveyance and the 
said Annie L. Mooring being by me privately examined separate and apart from 
her said husband touching her voluntary execution of the same doth state that 
she signed the same freely and voluntarily and without fear or compulsion on 
the part of her said husband or of any other person and that she doth still 
voluntarily assent thereto.
This 1st day of Dec. 1917. 
My commission expires on the 15th day of August, 1918.
