Written: 1881

This agreement made Oct. 20th between Ann M. DIBBLE and W. DUPREE, witnesseth: 
That the said Ann M. DIBBLE for the consideration hereafter mentioned doth 
lease unto the said W. DUPREE for a term of five years the following farm near 
the town of Kinston in Lenoir County to wit: one hundred acres of the Yadkin 
Hill farm in the South side of the public road lying between the lands of 
Huldah PARROTT and John TULL, there being about a two horse? farm cleared on 
the same.
And in consideration thereof the said W. DUPREE is to keep the fences and 
ditches in good order, and is to pay as rent for the first year one 500 lb. 
bale of good merchantable cotton and to build a framed tenant house on said 
land for his own company brick chimney and shingle roof and for the remaining 
four years he is to pay annually as rent two bales of good lent cotton 
weighing 500 lbs each to be deterred? in Kinston on or before Nov. 1st of each 
year.
And it is agreed that the said W. DUPREE shall have the use of the wood land 
on said farm for obtaining firewood for his own use and for rail timber and 
other farm purposes, the said Ann M. DIBBLE reserving the right to use the 
remainder of said timber. And it is further agreed that if the said W. DUPREE 
should fail to perform and part of his portion of this agreement then this 
lease is to terminate and the said Ann M. DIBBLE shall have the power to inter 
and occupy the premises hereby conveyed.
In testimony whereof the said parties have hereunto set their hands and seals 
in the year and day first written.
