CORD.  William G. Cord died at his home in Towanda Thursday, April 14, at the 
age of 83 years. He was a member of the 84th Ohio Volunteers. He has lived in 
Butler county for a long time, in fact, he was one of the first settlers. He 
was in very poor health, but the immediate cause of his death was paralysis. 
He leaves to survive him one son, who lives in Colorado, and two daughters who 
live in Illinois. The funeral services were conducted by the G. A. R. of 
Towanda, and he was buried in Towanda cemetery.
